Actress Sunny Leone was scheduled to do a New Years eve performance in Bangalore for a show called ‘Sunny Night’ – featuring some Kannada bands and artists as well.

But events took a turn for the worse as several outfits in Karnataka protested against her performance. Even as the organisers moved the High Court for the event to be allowed as the Karnataka police had refused permission for it after the protests. Reports quoted, the police commissioner Suneel Kumar referring to instructions by the Karnataka High Court for authorities to ensure peaceful New Year celebrations and prevent untoward incidents and stating that due to the spreading out of the city’s police force across Bengaluru on New Year’s Eve, the law-and-order arm of government would not be able to provide “adequate security”.

And even as the organizers moved the Karnataka High Court for the show to be given approval, Sunny Leone chose to cancel the show:

She followed it up with a tweet this morning – thanking some of the iconic Bollywood actresses for letting her know it’s ok to be herself!
