No movie is made overnight, but some definitely have a longer road to the big screen than the others. Padmavati – The most awaited movie of this year has become the talk of the town because of its delay in release. The movie supposes its release on December 1st, 2017; but now it has been postponed due to various reasons. On the same day, three other movies are releasing, Sunny Leone and Arbaaz Khan Starrer Tera Intezaar, Kapil Sharma’s Firangi and Viraam.
The hundreds who joined the march against the film should stand up against social evils such as child marriage, rape, illiteracy that the state faces. The film’s crew is facing several death threats, including a Rs. 10 bounty for beheading Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone, which was offered by the Haryana BJP Leader. We should think twice about the statement announced by the BJP leader, was it right? Well, the movie has been already banned in MP and Gujarat. Rajasthan has asked the center to ensure edits to the movie to not offend sentiments of the Rajput community.
When all this is happening, there are few who are getting benefits out of this controversy. Movies like Tera Intezaar, Firangi and Viraam will, of course, get benefits with the delay of Padmavati release. It is always a challenge for the low-budgeted movies to compete on the silver screen with a grand movie like Padmavati. This week there is no big movie releasing and also in the coming next week the audience do not have very good options to chose from. It is the last month of this year and people are going to rush towards the theaters, so definitely these movies are going to do better business in the coming weeks. Well, it’s rightly said that “Every bad thing for one is good for someone else”.
We wish good luck for the release of Padmavati and to the entire team.
