Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and director Anurag Basu hosted a special theatrical preview of Jagga Jasoos for the media on a Thursday afternoon. The reason to have an informal meet was simple, to help the media understand that the film is a musical and not just any other film. Basu also said that they were not sure if the film is reaching the audience in the right way and wanted people to come to the theaters to watch it. Katrina Kaif walked in 25 minutes late while Ranbir & Anurag chose to start the media interaction.

This isn’t the first time Ranbir Kapoor took to stammering for a film. Before ‘Jagga Jasoos’, Ranbir was seen stammering in ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani’ and coincidently Katrina Kaif was his co-star back in that film too.
“Jagga Jasoos is very different from Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani. In ‘Ajab Gajab..’ It’s used in a comic way. I don’t like watching ‘Ajab Gaajab..’ now. It looks like I am hamming”
Because ‘Jagga Jasoos‘ gives a ‘Barfi’ feel, is he expecting ‘Jagga Jasoos’ to get him back to where he was after hits like Rockstar and Barfi?
“After Barfi there was no line of directors or producers outside my house. Post that I did biggest films of my life Besharam and Bombay Velvet (laughs)”
Ranbir also suggested that he cannot continue doing coming of age films anymore. He is 35 and he needs to act his age.
“This is my last coming of age film. I can’t be a kid anymore. I am 35 now, can’t play a child in films anymore. I need to do manly roles now”
Being a producer for ‘Jagga Jasoos’ has surely taken a toll on the actor and hence he doesn’t want to comment regarding the fate of the film. Though Katrina had something to add to what Ranbir said.
“I am not confident if the film will work or no. During Rocket Singh I thought it was another Munnabhai but it didn’t work.” – Ranbir Kapoor
“After watching Rocket Singh, I called him and said Rocket Singh won’t work. It’s a very boring film” – Katrina Kaif
Lastly when Katrina was quizzed whether she prefers Ranbir Kapoor as a producer or a friend?
“I am not good at man to man relationship” – Ranbir Kapoor
“I would love to be a producer. As a producer, he hasn’t done much in the film. Dad (Anurag Basu) & Disney have done a brilliant job at producing the film. Ranbir is my best friend. (Giving each other a high five)” – Katrina Kaif
