Paresh Rawal’s upcoming Guest inn London has already hit a rough patch. The Indian division of Warner Bros. Pictures has filed an injunction and demanded a stay order in the Bombay High Court on the release of Kumar Mangat’s upcoming comedy, Guest inn London, scheduled to open on June 9.
Warner Bros claim that the film is being promoted as the sequel to the 2010 sleeper hit Atithi Tum kab Jaoge that starred Paresh Rawal, Ajay Devgn, and Konkona Sen Sharma. The sequel, prequel & the remake rights are wholly and solely owned by Warner bros and hence they moved the Bombay High Court on Monday and the second hearing is now on the 29th of May. The lawyers representing the Hollywood production house say that the case was filed while the film was under production as both the parties refused to come to a common ground.
The production house also claims that Kumar Mangat was in talks with Warner Bros but nothing was materialized when he suddenly announced Atithi in London. To be on the safer side, he also changed the title to Guest inn London.
The producer of Guest Inn London, Abhishek Pathak, said that Warner bros have filed a false injunction and stay order on the film without their consent. Paresh Rawal who was also part of Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge took to twitter to clarify that Guest inn London is not a sequel to Atithi.
Kisney Kaha yeh अतिथि का sequel hai ? Sequel Rohit abhi Baaki hai दोस्त ! For now block your date 16th June for Guest in London ! Cheers !
