Deepika Padukone in puffed sleeves Alexander Macqueen red cut gown for the Loreal Paris Cannes collection event. The actress replaces Katrina Kaif amongst the Indian brand ambassadors who will be walking the most talked about red carpet this year.
Deepika will be walking the red carpet on the 17th and 18th of May, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the 19th and 20th of May followed by Sonam Kapoor on the 21st and 22nd of May. What to wear and what not to wear might not be a pressure for Deepika as she seems unfazed with all the criticism coming her way for her Met Gala appearance. “It’s a collective decision. We work as a team. We work together to create a look. Sometimes you may like my look and sometimes you may not. I am not dressing for you, my love. I am dressing for myself.”
Deepika also thought that the international media calling her out as Priyanka is plain and simple racism. She said, “Absolutely. It’s not just me being offended. Everyone should be offended. It is not just ignorance, it is racist. Two people of the same color aren’t the same. You should educate them and not encourage them.”
Lastly, when quizzed about the phenomenon called Bahubali and the second installment breaking all box office records ever, Deepika said, “That the possibilities are aimless and limitless that is why I do an xXx and Priyanka does what she does. There is no limit in life. Bahubali a regional film breaking boundaries and barriers, that’s what it is that the possibilities are endless”
