It must be really difficult to be Parineeti Chopra. Sister to a Bollywood A-lister who not only is one of the highest paid leading ladies in India but has managed to make a mark in Hollywood as well.
Frankly, Parineeti did make a great start with Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. To stand out among those many ladies one of which was Anushka Sharma wasn’t easy. But Pari managed to do that nonetheless. A national award mention for Ishaqzaade and Chopra was flying. The girl next door was being loved by one and all.
But show business is tricky business. The girl who was being appreciated for representing the not so glamorous women folk of India was soon being laughed at for being a tad plus sized. The films that followed didn’t work and it looked like a comeback wouldn’t be easy.
Parineeti then did what women her age in Bollywood can only dream of. She chose to step back. Difficult in Bollywood where your career as a leading lady is directly related to your date of birth. Her last release was Dawat e Ishq in 2014. Chopra has been off the grid for three long Bollywood years now.
