Well, that was an audible growl. Considering that lunch was three hours ago, and dinner isn’t until 9 – you have a good reason to be hungry at 4 PM. Most of us are used to the long gaps between meals by now, but the food science and your mom will tell you that’s not a good thing. 1. Kiwis

Of course, we mean the dry fruit, not the social convention. The sticky, sweet fruit of the palm tree is naturally high in sugar, fiber, protein, vitamins (A, K & B6) and minerals. Dates are easily digested by the body, allowing full use of their goodness. The dietary fiber in dates also helps move waste smoothly through your colon and helps prevent LDL (bad) cholesterol absorption. Eating a moderate amount daily can also protect against damage to cells from free radicals, prevent a stroke, coronary heart disease and the development of colon, prostate, breast, endometrial, lung, and pancreatic cancers. 4. Eggs

If you’re the kind who finds themselves frequently hungry, this one’s probably the answer for you. Hard-boil 2-3 eggs (preferably only the egg white) and serve it to yourself with light garnishing (salt and pepper will do the trick). Eggs are the best source of Vitamin A, B5, B12 and B2, choline (used to build cell membranes0, antioxidants and they raise the good cholesterol in your body. They also induce the feeling of fullness. Eggs are the healthiest sort of protein, inexpensive and easy to grab on-the-go – that’s really all you can ask for!

The fruit that’s become a fad, avocado is the good kind of fat full of fiber and vitamins. This nutritious guacamole is abundant in Vitamins K, C, B5, and B6, loaded with antioxidants and contains more potassium than bananas. The good kind of fat in avocados is nothing more than oleic acid – the main reason for the health benefits of olive oil. The fat in avocados will help you absorb nutrients from plant foods. So make it into a paste, chop it like a salad or pop it raw – a little avocado goes a long way!
