Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha‘ is now a box office hit with Rs 89.95 Crore in one week and all set to pass the Rs 100 Crore mark in the second week. A much-needed break from the box office jinx Bollywood was suffering from in 2017. To celebrate this the team of ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ got together on a Friday morning to celebrate the success of it.

First up Akshay openly spoke about that one topic that was a taboo to talk on while growing up.

“Ya, it was the sanitary pad. We didn’t know about it much and we always thought that the society around us always hide it and I still remember that our neighbours used to have a ritual that they cannot go to temples and all because of this”

Currently, Akshay is shooting for his upcoming film ‘Gold’ in London and post that he gets on to shoot ‘Padman’ that his wife Twinkle Khanna is producing. The actor also spoke about the ‘Constipation tweet’ that Khanna put up 2 days back regarding the success of ‘Toilet- Ek Prem Katha’.

“It’s her humour and she says all these things and I also find it funny. I am glad that I am that tablet that broke constipation”

In the end, Akshay sportingly spoke about even the change of attitude towards the word toilet post the release of the film.

“People have caught on to the word ‘Toilet’ now, first they used to shy away from speaking about it. They used to also not say the word ‘Sandaas’ but now they say ‘Yo Man Mereko Sandaas Jaana Hai’. It has become a very cool word nowadays. I have seen youngsters use this word and the whole definition of the word has changed”

Hopefully, the ball of success should keep rolling at the box office and Toilet Ek Prem Katha should cross the RS 140 Crore benchmark of 2017 set by Raees.
